Welcome. We are a New York based collective of artists who create and produce evocative performance work. We delight in risk. We celebrate, research, and craft loving relationships with bodies, regardless of gender identity or lack thereof. We live in a state of question-asking. We indulge.
why
We want to create space for artists to explore the confines and freedoms of having a body. an entry point for inclusive feminism that has more questions than answers. We believe that art has the power to change the way we understand ourselves and others, form community, and experience our bodies. WHW was founded in 2020 by Monica Steffey during massive political, cultural and systemic upheaval. As artists, we feel that we must respond.
